BIT Chongqing Institute of Microelectronics and Microsystems, (hereinafter referred to as "The Institute") is an institution jointly established by Beijing Institute of Technology and Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone Management Committee. It is an non-local academic research and development institution directly managed by Beijing Institute of Technology.
Relying on the foundation and ability of the scientific research and teaching platform of Beijing Institute of Technology, and in combination with the industrial foundation and development plan of Xiyong Micro- Electric park, the Institute continues to strengthen the core technology research and overcome difficulties, adhere to promoting the collaborative innovation of industry, University and research, closely focus on the national strategic deployment such as the Chengdu Chongqing twin city economic circle, and work hard to build an international first-class research institute according to the scientific and technological development plan of the university town and the science town.
The Institute owns a 6-inch wafer R&D line covering the whole process of MEMS technology, with independent MEMS chip design, manufacturing, packaging and testing capabilities.
The Institute is mainly engaged in technology research and development, talent training and industrial incubation in the directions of micro-nano manufacturing, MEMS intelligent sensor chips, integrated circuit design, new semiconductor materials, terahertz technology and lightweight intelligent sensing micro systems. The outcome can be widely used in 3D sensing, driverless, intelligent robots, the Internet of things, environmental monitoring, precision medicine and other fields.
In 2021, the Institute was authorized to set up a Chongqing post-doctoral station.
